Job Description


Do you have experience working as an Accountant? Do you currently hold an AAT Level 3 or below and would like a permanent role which will provide study support to help you reach Level 4 as well as expanding your knowledge? If so, then this could be the ideal role for you!

We are working alongside a well-established Precision Engineering Company based in Lee On Solent. The company pride themselves on pushing their employees to achieve their best and expand upon their skills within a friendly and welcoming environment. Using the latest machinery, they manufacture a wide variety of small batch, high quality products for the Oil & Gas, Aviation and Motorsport industries.

What you will be doing -

You will be responsible for reconciling the bank balance and maintaining Excel spreadsheets whenever needed, as well as posting supplier invoices into the accounts package, sending customer invoices and checking statements before sending. You will be creating sales invoices and updating the cash book with the details, matching invoices with signed delivery notes, checking when customer payments are due and entering details onto the job card, purchase order and online account.

As well as the above the role is very varied and will include some Administration duties including answering the telephone and passing on messages, signing for deliveries, distribute incoming correspondence as well as posting outgoing correspondence, paying cheques into the bank, filing and archiving. You may also be asked to print and enter temporary worker timesheets onto Excel, check annual leave entitlements, generate new production numbers and calculate scrap valuations.

What we want from you -

The company is looking for someone who is able to multitask as every day is different. You will need to work in a logical, systematic manner and show tact and diplomacy, respecting the confidentiality of management discussions and decisions. You need to present a good impression to internal and external customers as well as have an excellent telephone manner and have a positive approach at all times.

We are looking for someone who has achieved an AAT Level 2 and have experience with working in a similar role. You will need to be confident in Excel and have used an MRP/ERP system.

The hours of the role are 8:30 - 5 Monday - Thursday and 8:30 - 3 Friday (with some flexibility) and the company are offering a salary of £20,000 - £23,000 depending on experience.

Please note - This company are based in Lee-on-the-Solent which has limited public transport routes.
