Do you have excellent customer service skills? Do you like being involved and heard? Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding new opportunity?
This is your opportunity to be a permanent After Sales Support Engineer in Southampton, responsible for the support of the aftermarket customers for existing products and applications in an international growing client base, for a company that specialise in advanced exhaust energy recovery technologies for reciprocating engines.
You being the After-Sales Support Engineer will be the voice of the customer and should be able to reach across the business in support of the installed base. This is a customer facing role and will require excellent communication and relational skills along with a high level of attention to detail.
You will be speaking & dealing with the Engineering, Equity, Operations and Sales department to help understand, isolate and resolve problems whilst supporting the customers' repairs and spares requirements.
Using your knowledge, you will be the first line for remote fault diagnosis, managing and progressing all issues raised by customers and ensuring timely resolution and feedback. This will help you to create customer service bulletins and troubleshooting documentation to guide customers. Any prior experience with processes or methods for remote monitoring will be welcomed to push forward with improvements.
As you are at the front of customer service and product base, you will be updating stakeholders in the business into the reliability of the products.
To help the customers, you will be producing, maintaining and updating the content of the Product Instruction Manuals to stop any issues arising. All your hard work on the manuals will be distributed to the customers to help them maintain the products on their own.
If in the unlikely event a product is returned, you will be overseeing the process. This will see you working alongside fellow Engineering and Operation Technicians to figure out the cause of failure, and updating the product records accordingly to avoid any repeat issues. Of course, throughout this you would be keeping the customer up to date with progress as well as creating customer reports with the Engineering team.
If you have a recent degree or equivalent in an engineering, scientific or technical subject then it will be preferred. Ideally some experience of high-speed machinery, electronic control systems and power electronics. If you have a background in the automotive, power generation or other similar technical industry with some understanding of engines and generator sets then this will be favourable.
Good pension, onsite parking, Life Assurance, Health Insurance & 27 days holiday! The salary range is £30,000 to £35,000 per annum depending on experience
