Buyer - 1 Year Contract - Excellent Opportunity!!

Are you looking to work for a Global Leader who provide cutting edge solutions? Do you want a new challenge that can utilise your existing skills and look fantastic on your CV? We are currently looking for a Buyer for a large Manufacturing company in Portsmouth for a 1 year Maternity contract.

You will be responsible for the sourcing and negotiation of low value goods and services, commitments of purchase orders on suppliers, controlling the P2P processes and running reports and expedite. You will need to hit the ground running and be eager and willing to learn.

What will you be doing?

Your main role will be varied and will include processing of requisitions, placing purchase orders from RFQ through to control of archived records. You will control and ensure that internal purchasing guidelines are being followed and support vendor master to set up amendments.

Other duties include dealing with purchase orders and payments and supporting the Senior Buyers & Commodity Managers in the contract negotiation. You will liaise with internal customers and external suppliers internationally to support placing and progressing of orders as well as developing and maintaining relationships. You will oversee purchasing card processes and support in the maintenance of the Quality Approved Purchasing Procedures.

You need to have experience in the purchase to pay process as you will responsible for managing the P2P purchasing systems/procedures. This will be on SAP so you must have used this before.

It is key that you have strong negotiation and sourcing skills to drive the supply chain forward in a sometimes-challenging environment. This is a small team of 2 who are of vital importance to the business and as a team they are very visible and accountable.
