Job Description

Are you an experienced Buyer with experience within manufacturing? Are you looking for a position that has a realistic path for growth, development and progression? Are you looking for a role that involves travel to different facilities and suppliers where you are not just desk bound? If so, this Buyer position is perfect for you!

This Buyer position is based in Havant, working for an industry leading manufacturer. The role is Monday to Friday working standard office hours, with an earlier finish on a Friday! The role is paying up to £40,000, depending on experience.

This Buyer role has a range of duties that fall within the responsibilities. The successful candidate will be required to work closely with other sites, to ensure close coordination focused on procurement. The successful candidate will need to evaluate MRP demand, raising and monitoring relevant purchase orders. They will also be required to process purchase requisitions. It is also important to actively liaise with suppliers to address any non-conformances, lead negotiations, identify cost savings, manage and resolve invoices and continue to build/maintain strong relationships. The successful candidate will also be expected to keep records and documentation accurate. There will also be an element of leading projects, such as Cost Reduction or Risk Management. It is also important within this role to implement continuous improvements identified for the procurement chain. Cross collaboration with other departments will also be key to ensure material shortages, delivery delays or similar are relayed to the engineering or production teams so deadlines can be managed accordingly.

You will need:

  • 5+ years Buying/Procurement experience within a Manufacturing Environment
  • Experience with leading projects and delivering expectations
  • Experience with negotiating and sourcing a range of materials/commodities
  • Strong IT and System Skills
  • To be self-driven and able to create/manage own workload
  • Excellent communication skills with both suppliers and colleagues
  • Ability to work to deadlines and work under pressure
