You will be working inside Residential Care Homes predominantly based in Brighton.
We work with a fantastic list of Care Homes that confidently pride themselves on providing a safe, supportive and welcoming environment for both their residents and our team. You will be working alongside a strong team of Care Assistants where you will be supporting elderly residents who may suffer from Dementia, Physical Disabilities, Sensory Impairments as well as other health conditions.

Your responsibilities will typically include assisting with resident's morning or evening routines, this might include assisting with meal times and preparing for the day ahead or getting ready for the night. You will be required to support their personal care needs which can include helping residents to dress, wash and maintain overall hygiene. You will support staff on medication rounds, assist residents with mobility problems such as those with other aids like wheelchairs or in need of hoists. You will attend staff handover meetings, complete light household cleaning tasks and ensure logbooks are correctly updated with resident observations. You will participate in daily activities with residents always ensuring to promote independence where possible, assist residents on outings into the community or appointments and support their emotional well-being as well as social needs. You will work confidently in a team as well as on your own where needed, provide guidance where required and complete any additional tasks given by management whilst on the shift.

You will be able to use your previous experience as a Care Assistant to successfully manage and deescalate any challenging behaviors that might occur, you will have knowledge regarding a Residential Care Home environment and obtain skills such as the ability to be patient, empathetic and resilient.
A minimum of six months paid experience within the care sector is required to be considered for the position.
The ability to drive is not essential for this position.
