Job Description
Are you Chemical Engineering graduate? Or perhaps an outright Chemistry grad looking to start or carry on your career within the exciting world of Research and Design? If so, we are seeking a Research and Design professional to join a collaborative team of six at a well-established and highly regarded manufacturing site in Wrexham, employing nearly 100 professionals.
If you're a recent graduate who completed a sandwich year in industry or you now have post-degree experience, this is an excellent opportunity for you!
The company specialises in designing and manufacturing products supporting the medical and healthcare markets, consistently investing in technology and staff development.
Offering a competitive salary of up to £33,000 per year, the position involves a 36.25-hour workweek from Monday to Friday (9 am to 5 pm), along with 25 days of holiday, a pension plan of up to 11% (7% employer contribution and 4% employee contribution), a BUPA cash plan, and a discretionary bonus scheme.

What would be my responsibilities?
As an R&D Engineer, your role is dynamic, involving the development of new products and processes. You'll be at the forefront of innovation, contributing to the creation and improvement of processes, products, and technologies. Your tasks will include researching, designing, testing, and implementing new material production processes, enhancing existing methods, and collaborating with a team of skilled engineers and scientists. This position provides a well-rounded scientific experience, offering variety and exposure to laboratory sciences and business operations, enabling significant career advancement.
What qualifications and skills are required?
- A relevant recent degree in Chemical Engineering or closely related.
- Strong self-management skills, demonstrating ownership of projects.
- Dynamic attitude with excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with a diverse team.
- Eligibility to work in the UK and a feasible commute to the Wrexham site.
