Job Description

Chief Operations Officer - Engineering/Manufacturing - Fareham

We are looking an experienced, dynamic manager with the skills to lead and continually improve company industrial activities including Engineering, NPI, Purchasing and Supply Chain.

A member of the executive management team, you will be leading, managing and motivating the operations teams to ensure targets are achieved. We are looking for someone with a mechanical manufacturing bias with experience of high value/low volume products in a high-end market e.g. aviation, aerospace, etc.

There could be some very occasional travel within the UK and/or France so the role does require some flexibility.

This role would suit a high-level leader/manager from aviation/aerospace/nuclear/oil and gas or similar high end / high precision engineering. A leader who is extremely self-motivated and has a collaborative/positive approach and demonstrates company values and behaviours. Our client is interested in hearing from people who have lean transformation experience and proven output.

  • Demonstrable Manufacturing experience within a similar, high value/low volume business
  • Managing 50+ indirect personnel
  • Experience managing operations within engineering, supply chain/purchasing
  • Degree level qualification in an Engineering/Technical discipline or other similar qualification
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Strategic View - Short/Medium Term
  • Track record managing change
  • Experience of New Product Introduction
  • Possess a high-level leadership style
  • Lean Transformation, Cost/Quality Control,
  • Efficiency Gains - demonstrable out puts shown in Productivity Use of Risk Based Management and Approach Highly developed communication skills and able to present to executive team members and deliver workshops where necessary

Salary and benefits

Salary for the role would be around £70'000 per annum but this is based on experience and suitability for the role, someone with higher salary requirements may still be considered - please contact to discuss this, it would of course depend on your suitability to the role and level of experience.
