Job Description

Due to extreme demand, we are recruiting for Children's Support Workers to join our excellent team and work alongside children and young people within outstanding Residential Children's Homes located in East Sussex.

Each home provides a welcoming, safe and supportive environment for each young person where they can focus on their personal development, learn important life skills through daily activities and be provided with fantastic opportunities to encourage their confidence and independence. The homes support children and young people who may come from very traumatic backgrounds, suffer from EBD (emotional and behavioural difficulties) or display signs of challenging behaviour.

Are you looking to work during the week? Maybe only on weekends or every other week? What about only during holidays? No problem! We want you to have full control of how little or much you want to work which is why we will offer you earlies, late, long days, sleep-ins and wake nights across the entire week to ensure that you have full flexibility and a great work-life balance!

Typical duties will include participating in staff handovers, supporting staff in planning fun day activities for the young people as well as external trips. Depending on your shift time, you will either be supporting the young people with their morning or their evening routines which can include getting them up ready for the day ahead or helping them settle in for the night. You will partake in exciting activities with the young people which can include baking, cooking, gardening, encouraging hobbies such as crafts and joining them on external trips like swimming. You will be required to complete light household cleaning during the shift, assist with meal preparation where needed and do small admin tasks such as updating the staff logbook. Whilst here you might be required during the day to transport the young people to school, collect them from school or accompany them to appointments.

We are extremely proud of all our dedicated team, which is why we ensure to provide each of our Children's Support Workers with a fantastic bundle of employee benefits. You will receive weekly pay, accruable holiday entitlement, a free Enhanced Child & Adult Workforce DBS scheme*, option to be added onto a pension scheme, the fantastic chance to earn a Diploma L3 in Children & Young People, online training if required with certificates given to keep, excellent pay rates, a friendly team of consultants to support you and much more!

You will act as a key role model to each young person who will be looking up to you for support, guidance and reliability. You will be patient, able to use your initiative, good at timekeeping and able to work confidently whether within a team or independently.

You will need a minimum of six months experience within the care sector to be considered for this role.

The ability to drive is not essential for this position.

Don't wait any longer, click that "APPLY" button now to be contacted by one of our consultants!
