We are recruiting for Children's Support Workers to join our fantastic team, working alongside children and young people within outstanding Residential Children's Homes based across Brighton.

You will be supporting children and young people who have come from very traumatic backgrounds, suffer from EBD (emotional and behavior) and or display signs of challenging behavior.

You will be working inside unique Residential Children's Homes that promise a welcoming, safe and supportive environment for each young person where they can focus on their personal development as well as learn important life skills and be provided with fantastic opportunities to promote their independence plus increase their confidence.

Are you looking to work during the week? Maybe only weekends or every other week? What about only during holidays or maybe just a few days per week? No problem! We want you to have full control of how little or much you want to work which is why we will offer you earlies, lates, long days, sleep-ins and wake nights across the entire week and weekends offering you full flexibility and a great work-life balance!

Your typical duties will include participating in staff handovers, supporting staff in organizing fun activities for the young people as well as assisting on external trips into the community. Depending on your shift time, you will be either expected to support the young people with their morning or evening routines, which could include getting them up and ready for the day or settling in for the night. You will support the young people with exciting activities during the day which could include baking, cooking, gardening and encouraging other hobbies such as art and crafts or maybe a new hobby they'd like to try! You will be required to complete light household tasks during your shift, assist with meal preparation and perform small admin tasks such as updating staff logbooks. You might be required to transport the young people to and from school, accompany them on appointments and work with some on a one-to-one basis or in small groups. You will be constantly encouraging their education, ensuring they're as independent as possible as well as supporting their wellbeing and maintaining a supportive environment at all times.

Here at First People Recruitment, we are incredibly proud of all our Children's Support Workers who continue to provide excellent care, assistance and guidance on a daily basis which is why we ensure to offer all our dedicated staff a fantastic bundle of employee benefits!
