GROWTH ROLE!! This company are a very busy sub contractor who despite COVID 19 have still been in demand and pressing on with site expansion and recruitment!

Are you at that stage in your job where you are now looking to get off the machines and progress your career to become more involved with the customer? If so then we have the ideal role offering you great exposure whilst being supported by the team and manager.

This role requires a CNC machinist who has at least 5 years of CNC operating, setting and programming experience and crucially has the right set of communication skills and a desire to progress up from machining.

You'd be working closely with 3 other former CNC programmers who have utilised their solid understanding of CNC to progress well into Account leading roles.

With customers across various industries this company are a precision machining subcontractor in Portsmouth. The salary is fair and in relation to your experience, they'll offer you 4% towards your pension, 25 days holiday plus the 8 bank holidays, bonus, training where relevant and in usual times a decent amount of overtime is available on the machines if you fancy getting hands on again to help out.

What will I do?

As this company grow and expand into new services you'll pick up warm leads from enquiries and assess if the lead is viable and if so taking the customer through the whole process giving them a first class service. You'll be estimating, quoting, thinking of production methodologies, taking into consideration BOM's, run times, time for plating etc or perhaps whether the work could even be subcontracted out to one of their highly trusted sub cons. You'll have a great appreciation of these processes from your years of machining experience gained first hand.

What do I need?

  • At least 5 years of CNC programming
  • Any estimating experience already would be advantageous
  • A great set of communication skills
  • Any commercial acumen would be advantageous
