CNC Programmer looking to take on more responsibility?

Role: CNC Programmer / Supervisor (milling)

Location: Portsmouth

Salary: Negotiable

Controls: Heidenhain / Fanuc / Mazatrol

The company manufacture parts and components for many blue-chip companies across the UK and have clients worldwide.

This role would be great for someone who is an experienced Miller/Programmer that is looking for more responsibility, perhaps in a supervisory capacity.

Your main role would be to Program, set up and operate CNC mills as well as lathes ideally (but he most important skill set is the milling). You will be supervising the CNC cell as well.

Ideally, we are after someone who is used to organising workloads for a small machine shops including tooling, raw materials, programs, and workflow.

What will you be doing?

  • Programing on and/or off line for CNC machines
  • Setting and operating CNC machines VMC and Lathe
  • Manufacture of jigs and fixtures to assist in general production
  • Organize materials and tooling for workstations
  • Organize work flow through machines
  • Supervise CNC area, mentor and develop trainees

As a company, they have a very low turnover staff who are very loyal, they employ apprentices who they support through their studies and he is happy to consider this for future employees, there is a possibility to do offline programming if this is a skill set you do not already possess, friendly and relaxed.
