Job Description

Are you CNC Turner looking to join a well equipped modern machine shop where they can offer you 5 weeks of holiday per year, an 11% pension, discounts across all major supermarkets and if you want it they can also offer many hours a week of overtime, yet importantly there is never any pressure to work overtime.

This CNC Turner role will pay you highly competitively, working 38 hour weeks as a standard. They are ideally looking for someone to join them on earlies or lates, Monday to Friday 6am to 2pm or on late shift which is 2pm till midnight Monday through to Thursday, so a 3 day weekend!! They offer a 25% uplift on the late shift pattern. They are based in Segensworth near to Fareham.

There are over 30 professionals working across machining. The company make complex mechanical assembles which once manufactured are assembled, tested and then distributed on a global scale to prestige customers!

This machine shop has multiple lathes, milling machines and sliding heads - your role will be working on the lathes as a CNC Turner, operating and setting using FANUC controls. A lot of their work is repeatable, yet as a team they are always coming up with better ways to manufacture and so there will be occasional programming opportunities.

You'll work across a couple of machines typically day to day and set up lots of interesting operations on the lathes and always be kept busy and challenged.

The team have a fantastic work ethos, pulling together and working together well throughout all of Covid. The team all look out for each other and always look for ideas to improve machining across the machine shop.

What do I Need?

  • Experience working on a Lathe as a CNC Turner Setter/Operator
  • Willing to work well and contribute any ideas to improve operations
  • An understanding of Fanuc ideally
  • An understanding of tight tolerances
  • Able to commute to the site
