Commercial Manager - (Maternity Cover) Andover, Hampshire

Fixed term contract for one year

FPR Group have been given an exciting opportunity to recruit for a talented Commercial Manager to join our well-established client located just outside of Andover.

As the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for Sainsbury's (maternity cover) you will be responsible for managing the Sainsbury's accounts within the fresh produce company across two sites between Hampshire and West Sussex.

You will be responsible for maintaining relationships across all categories supplied into; delivering against the sales budgets, projects and cost saving initiatives that fit with the company, and category, strategic plans.

Responsibilities include:

  • Be the primary point of contact for Sainsbury's across the company
  • Lead the account management, manage communication and the relationships with Sainsbury's in a pro-active, appropriate and efficient manner
  • Establish relationships with all key areas of the Sainsbury's categories company interface with i.e.; buying, supply chain, online, finance, technical etc.
  • Coordinate extensively internally and externally to optimise output and align the business
  • Drive and deliver against the category agenda to develop sales
  • Track performance progress through weekly/ monthly spreadsheets and reporting
  • Perform timely administration and forward planning to support objective delivery
  • Build in-depth knowledge and understanding of the business, all departmental areas and the value chain
  • Deliver results as per budget and KPI targets
  • Drive profit improvement initiatives and lead the Sainsbury's ABC initiatives across both of the branches of the business
  • Deliver the annual customer strategies, align stakeholders and translate into successful results

Experience required:

  • Previous National Accounts sales experience in food
  • Previous significant Sainsbury's experience ideally in a commercial role
  • Working knowledge of Sainsbury's systems and databases
  • Excellent understanding of financial and business metrics
  • Demonstrates good financial and business acumen
  • Very good standard of written English
  • High standards when it comes to attention to detail
  • Highly efficient in the use of MS Office 2000 or later, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Numeracy, probing and analytical skills
  • Ability to identify commercial and/or cost opportunities at product and store level
  • Ability to set and manage accurate forecasts and to respond to changing trading conditions pro-actively
  • Drive, initiative, urgency with an ownership mentality
  • Ability to prioritise changing workloads and situations quickly and effectively
  • Excellent consultative selling and negotiation skills
  • Proactive, tenacious and creative decision making and problem-solving skills to resolve customer issues

Salary:

  • £50,000

Working hours:

  • 37.5 - 40.00 hours per week - Flexible with times i.e. 8.00am - 5.00pm
  • Possible weekend work and on call
