Job Description

Are you an experienced Commodity Manager looking for your next position in Porchester? This is your chance to be a Regional Commodity Manager to work in the Purchasing Department of a well-known automotive component manufacturer.

JOB PURPOSE - An exciting and demanding role focussing on developing and overseeing the implementation of purchase strategies for a nominated commodity.

RESPONSIBILITIES - You will use your experience in developing and overseeing the implementation of Purchase strategies which underpin supplier sourcing recommendations for a nominated commodity. You will be completing research for key/commodities to support both the local and regional requirements where you will see your work directly improving the company. The company are focused on continuous improvement in all areas including cost and production speed, therefore you will be using your experience to complete Buy vs Make analysis, analyse Request for Quote for nominated commodity/ies, including, where appropriate, production, tooling, and equipment.

Your opinion will be highly valued therefore you will be providing input, with justification, with regard to forecast spend and Purchase price variance data for the commodity under management.

Local and international travel will be required as deemed necessary by the organisation to perform the role satisfactorily.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE/ KNOWLEDGE -· Degree level (related discipline), CIPS Qualified, computer literate, extensive experience of purchasing commodities in a fast-moving manufacturing industry, report writing, problem solving, supplier development principles.
