Job Description

Conveyancing Completions Clerk

Are you looking to join a friendly, welcoming team in a fast-paced exciting department? We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Conveyancing Completions Clerk to permanently join a busy residential conveyancing team within a well-known Legal Solicitors in Portsmouth.

Job role

  • Liaise with clients, solicitors, lenders, managing agents and estate agents after exchange of Contracts
  • Compile, check and provide completion statements to all parties
  • Put together the documents required for completion using Word, Excel and a Case Management system
  • Conduct all the telephone calls on the day of completion, confirming completion to all parties involved in transaction
  • Compiling completion letters to all parties involved in conveyancing transaction
  • Submit Stamp Duty Land Tax and assemble documents required for registration
  • Chase for necessary paperwork required before and after completion
  • Submit applications to the Land Registry for new purchases, leases, lease extensions, transfers etc
  • Check Titles and send out to clients and lenders upon completion by the Land Registry
  • Assist and promote the conveyancing department as required

What will you be responsible for?

  • Ideally would have experience of working in a conveyancing department
  • Will have strong organisational skills and will be able to prioritise their workload effectively
  • Must have diligent attention to detail
  • Will be proficient in IT and possess strong mathematical / accounting skills
  • Must be experienced in delivering a high standard administrative service
  • Will have a confident telephone manner and a 'can do' attitude
  • Must be able to perform to a high standard, even under pressure

Salary & Working hours

Paying up to £20,000 dependent upon experience. You will be full-time, 9:00 - 17:15 with an hour for lunch.
