Deputy Manager (children, EBD) - Hove

A private childrens home organisation based in Hove is recruiting for a deputy manager to join the team in one of their childrens homes for young people aged 9-17 with EBD.
You will be working in a staff team who are committed to providing the highest levels of care to the young people, offering support and guidance while ensuring the safety and personal development.
You will be working closely with the Registered Manager, to help ensure that the Home meets high internal and external standards, plus you will be responsible for the Safeguarding and welfare of children, making sure care standards are of the highest quality.
You will also be responsible for the supervison, development and leadership of the staff team, managing the home in the absence of the registered manager.
You will be expected to work as part of a shift pattern and also carry out sleep in duties, allthough you will be paid a generous bonus for sleep in duties. Increasing the basic salary considerably.
You must have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels as well as having excellent knowledge of OFSTED and supervisions.
An NVQ 3 is desirable but by no means essential, previous experience is always valued and taken into account.

Skills * A proven track record of supervisory experience within childcare facilities. * Strong staff management and leadership skills. * An ability to communicate effectively on all levels. * A strong familiarity in working towards Ofsted standards and outcomes. * Minimum Level 3 diploma in children and young people and some supervision skills would be desirable.
