Deputy Manager (Children Homes)

Here at FPR Group, we are currently recuiting on behalf of our well-known client based in Fledborough who are searching for a Deputy Manager to join their excellent team in supporting children/young individuals physically, emotionally, intellectually and to achieve positive outcomes.

You will play a key role in the home, reporting to the Registered Manager and supporting the development of each child/young person whilst protecting them from any health threats that could arise inside/outside the home. You will use the residential community as a means of support and social learning, participate in implementation and monitoring of individuals care plans and ensure that the individual needs of children and young people in regards to care, health and education are met; and to ensure religious observance and culturally significant activities are maintained.

You will be working closely to the Registered Manager, ensuring the effective management of delegated budgets as well as monitoring ongoing expenditues. You will ensure to keep a professional standard with all staff, children and young people at all times. The care staff will expect an appropriate induction, supervision and performance management from yourself whilst promoting team development and effective team working in order to deliver high quality services to ensure the young people feel safe and boundaried.

Whilst working in this homely setting, you will maintain a safe environment ensuring the fabric of the building and equipment in good condition, encouraging staff and children to care for their surroundings and make best use of the available resources as well as ensuring risk assessments are completed and updated when needed. You will promote a postive approach to all potential and existing service users at all times.

The ideal individual will have an NVQ L3 in Health & Social Care, working knowledge of Quality Care Standards and Children's Homes Regulations as well as have a full driving licence. You will have good communication skills, the ability to show initiative and be confident in leading and supporting behaviour management. A minimum of 3 years successful experience working with children in a residential setting and a minimum of 1-year's experience of staff supervision.
