Our client is looking for an Electrical Engineer who is keen to progress themselves into an electrically design biased position which offers the opportunity to work with a variety of technologies, and so expand your skill set across both electrical and PLC design!
This unusual opportunity will require you to be responsible for the design of Electrical Control Systems, PLC and HMI programming and the Installation and Commissioning of Robotic Automation Systems. You will also be Providing Technical Support to both customers and the ICS Team in addition to assisting with the continuous development and improvement of Automation Solutions, standards and documentation.
This is a diverse role, where you will be not only working to create new solutions in line with customer requirements, but also re-engineering existing to increase efficiency for new products to be manufactured by your customer. The role will be based in Southampton, however there will be the requirement for you to travel to customer sites throughout the UK with overnight stays likely about once per month.
And the Package?
The company is offering a salary of up to £45,000 per annum, dependent on your experience, in addition to paid overtime. You will also be offered an annual profit related bonus, 5% pension contribution, life cover as well as a minimum of 20 days holidays, plus bank holidays.
What do I need?
The successful Electrical Design Engineer will be someone who is an ambitious Electrical Engineer who is looking for a varied role and is happy to take on a diverse range of responsibilities throughout the project cycle.
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Relevant degree / HNC / qualification in Electrical Engineering which provides:
- a solid foundation in the Principles of Electrical or Control Systems Engineering
- 3-5 years' experience within the Industrial Automation Sector
- Knowledge of Electrical Regulations and Working Practise
- 2 years' experience of at least 3 of the following:
- AutoCAD Electrical or Eplan
- RSLogix 5000 & 500
- Mitsubishi GX Works 2
- Siemens S7 & S5
- RSNetworx for Device-net or similar Industrial Networking
- Proface Software
- 6-Axis Robot Programming
