Finance Assistant

Chichester, West Sussex - £23,000 per annum

This could be the next role for you. The role of the Finance Assistant is two-fold to ensure the day-to-day finance operations are carried in out in a correct, timely manner; and to contribute to the production of the company's management accounts. This is a wide-ranging role, that overtime will allow a CIMA/ACCA candidate to complete their practical experience at a company that has a track record of enabling staff to do so.

As Finance Assistant, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Maintain customer transactions
  • Ensure all customer transactions are processed in a correct and timely manner, including incoming remittances & allocations
  • Administrate the customer direct debit scheme * process refunds in a timely manner * reconcile all customer transactions to the bank account Transaction Processing
  • Posting invoices on Sage 200
  • Processing staff expenses claims
  • Payment processing
  • Reconciling all transactions to the bank accounts Credit Control Finance Assistant
  • Administrate the company's credit control processes
  • Contribute to the weekly "debtors" meeting
  • Process the company bordereaux submissions Contribute to Accounts
  • Produce the back-up for the company's income
  • Carry out the quarterly asset check
  • Maintain the schedules to back up the management accounts
  • Carry out ad-hoc tasks for the company management accountant

The successful candidate will have:

  • Excellent time management, workload prioritisation and organisational skills
  • Confident running databases and spreadsheets
  • Knowledge of working with SAGE
  • Good working knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Outlook
  • A good level of education or equivalent professional qualifications
  • Proactive and ability to work to deadlines and process timeframes

Salary:

  • You can expect a starting salary of £23,000. After 3 months you will join the pension scheme and you will receive a company contribution equivalent to 12% of your basic salary
