Head of Site Safety / Process Safety

Are you passionate about safety within manufacturing environments? Do you have the expertise to lead and ensure compliance with UK Safety/Process Safety requirements? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you at a well established manufacturer around the corner from Southampton in Hythe.

Paying up to £60,000 plus benefits such as a bonus, 6% employer pension contribution, 25 days holiday, free use of the gym plus the benefits of a subsidised canteen on site that covers breakfast, lunch etc. This role will play a key part in the sites overall safety and champion commitment to process safety. The role will be based on the site, yet there could be some opportunity for hybrid working in necessary.

The site employs almost 200, are well established and always invest heavily in training and supporting all staff and recruits. The intention is for the successful candidate to become a long serving successful professional with them moving forwards.

The site is a top tier COMAH site, so process safety is all about insuring HSE, regulations and processes are all water tight. You'll ensure there are Permits to work, implement strong process safety policies and guidelines, plan and lead audits. You will have an Environmental Manager and Occupations Nurse within your small team to support you and all the professionals on site all working together to continuously improve the manufacturing of the site.

What do I need?

* A strong appreciation for safety in a highly regulated process manufacturing environment.

* Able to influence and utilise strong cross functional communication skills to ensure Site safety is always at the forefront

* Ideally a chemical or engineering background to draw experience from

* Ideally degree education in chemical or engineering, yet sufficient experience will suffice
