Health & Safety Officer - Up to £60,000 DOE- Portsmouth
A global leading Electronics Manufacturing company are currently looking for a Health and Safety Officer to join their market leading team!
The Health and Safety Officer is responsible for; Preventing accidents, injuries and work-related illnesses in the workplace. This is done by creating and implementing health and safety policies in accordance with the latest legislations to ensure these policies are implemented by management and employees which ensures every member of staff is aware of and adheres to these policies and procedures.
Other Responsibilities include: Establish safety standards and policies as required by the business; Monitoring and assessing active and developing hazardous and unsafe situations reporting to the H&S committee as necessary and recommending remedial and preventative actions; Investigate accidents and near-miss reports, ensuring all necessary submissions in accordance with RIDDOR; Respond to employees' safety concerns in liaison with Line Managers and H&S Committee members as necessary; Provide training and information for staff on H&S matters ie fire prevention/evacuation, Personal Protective Equipment, DSE etc
In order to be considered for this position candidates need; Have experience working with a Health and Safety position within a manufacturing organisation. You must have experience communicating with all levels and build relationships with long standing employees. Candidates need to have training or be certified to NEBOSH standards.
It would be advantageous for candidates to have; Experience working within Electronics, Electrical manufacturing organisation.
This position is commutable from, Portsmouth, Havant, Winchester, Southampton, Fareham, Guildford, Chichester and other areas within Hampshire.
