Job Description

HVAC Sales Engineer

Are you confident in your sales ability and maintaining good relationships? Are you determined, independent, and reliable? Would you like to work for a global leader in the HVAC industry? If the answers are yes, this may be the role for you! We are looking for a Sales Engineer in the Birmingham area who can help a large, well-experienced company continue to grow. You would be working for an organisation who specialise in heat exchangers with a turnover of over £750 million!

As well as a competitive basic salary of £25,000 - 35,000, benefits include private healthcare and a company pension plan. The contract is 37.5 hours, working core hours, and there will be a small amount of travel involved with an 80/20 split between the office and client visits.

Your role will involve working within a small team to develop a growing market segment, managing existing accounts and developing new sales channels with the goal of increasing turnover.

What you will be doing:

This position will require you to contribute towards the overall company sales targets by achieving your own through a determination to sell. Your responsibilities will include maintaining close relationships with existing customers by keeping them updated on orders and ensuring dialogue is open. You will create quotations, design plate heat exchangers, negotiate contracts, and, ultimately, grow the customer base.

What do they want from you?

  • A technical education (degree or similar qualification).
  • A good technical understanding (preferably heat transfer and basic refrigeration knowledge).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (primarily Word and Excel).
  • A proven track record in sales within the HVAC industry would be preferred, but is not essential.
  • A confident personality with drive to succeed.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Great interpersonal, customer service skills.
  • Ability to organise your own workload.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings (not essential)
