Job Description

We are working with an international, mechanical manufacturer supplying the aviation industry to recruit someone to join their Quality team - this would suit someone who is driven, enthusiastic and keen to work towards change and look at continuous improvement. You would be joining a skilled, experienced team where you could expand your skills.

This would be an amazing opportunity for someone who may have machining experience but wants to move into quality, or an inspector who has at some point worked in a machine shop environment.

The standard week is 37 hours, you would be working days is=deally with some flexibility for occasional overtime.

Requirements…

  • Experience within a machine shop
  • Able to read engineering drawings
  • Experience inspecting mechanical, machined components (complex components ideally)
  • Exposure to working to tight tolerances
  • Some knowledge of CMM machines but can be trained
  • Knowledge of first article inspection reports would be helpful
  • Able to use Vernier's, micrometres, etc.
  • You will ideally be relatively flexible with regards to working hours and happy to contribute occasionally to overtime.

The role…

  • Inspecting mechanical parts and assemblies to drawings, documentation, routings, industry standards
  • Using a variety of manual equipment including verniers, micrometers, CMM, etc
  • Program, set up and operate CMM's (as long as you have experience of operating they would be happy to train with the programming side)
  • Certify release of assembled units as the signatory
  • Ensure documentation/routings are completed and processed
  • Use inhouse computer system to track routings, data entry and produce a certificate of conformity

  • Input, record and analyse data from various sources

  • Actively contribute to business objectives and continuous improvement philosophies and opportunities

  • Ensure product meet customer requirements
