Job Description

Due to an expansion and an upcoming busy period, our client is looking to add a buyer to their team to help purchase and coordinate suppliers to maximise cost reduction opportunities.

Working within the purchasing department you will be joining a friendly, positive team utilising your skillset in buying. Whilst the main responsibility of this position will consist of supplier purchasing you will also help coordinate the department purchases each day, maintain accurate records, ensure paperwork is in place to support purchases, identify areas for cost-saving opportunities, communicate with suppliers to release tenders and RFQ's.

About you

Communication is key for a Buyer, as this helps achieve the best results. If you are familiar with engineering terms, then great; this will help you understand what items and services you are buying and have an understanding of how much the purchase should cost.

Great commercial acumen will help with your negotiation skills and invoice/quotation queries alongside helping build relationships with suppliers.

Any experience of raising purchase orders, speaking to suppliers, creating RFQ'S, expediting, and actively contributing to cost reduction will greatly benefit your application and help you settle well within the team.

You will have the responsibility of the day-to-day relationships with various suppliers to purchase goods.
