Job Description

Have you accumulated great Lean experience within a machining and assembly environment? If so then we are recruiting for a Lean / Continuous Improvement Engineer to join a global manufacturer based predominantly at a Havant manufacturer.

Paying up to 45k, this role offers a genuinely exciting challenge as there is a significant amount of process improvements to be made and ultimately cost savings to be identified. This is a chance to be part of this companies' modernisation phase and this is very much a base one start with a lot to get stuck into as a Lean Engineering professional.

Onsite machining and assembly, typically for mechanical products, low batch, low volume. The company have 2 sites, 80% of the time you would be in Havant with circa 20% of the time at their other site. Typically, the vast majority of the cost saving and LEAN implementations will be within their assembly and machining divisions, with approximately 70% assembly and probably 30% within machining.

The teams are relatively small within these department and your challenge as a Lean Engineer will naturally be to gain the team leads investment and buy in.

So what do I need?

It is critical you are a good few years into your career and have gained good experience and demonstrable success withing LEAN engineering, six sigma, within assembly and machining related manufacturing. Most importantly you'll need strong cross functionally communication skills to drive and sustain a favourable culture moving forwards. Be able to work closely with department managers, creating action plans, value stream mapping, using fantastic influencing skills.

  • Demonstrable success with Lean Engineering implementation
  • Six Sigma and Value Stream mapping experience
  • Assembly and machining experience
  • Strong cross functional communication skill set
  • Challenging current operations experience with demonstrable success
  • At least several years into your manufacturing career.
  • Ideally a relating degree or well certified in business/engineering.
