Job Description

Have you gained experience operating machinery within manufacturing/production? Would you be keen to learn how to use machines such as Brake Presses, Punch Presses, Guillotines and roll forming machines with ample training provided? If so then this permanent role for a well established Manufacturer in Havant will be a fantastic option for you!!

This role is permanent, it is working 37 hours a week, 8.30 to 4.30 Monday to Thursday with a 1pm finish on Fridays. The salary will start at £23,500, yet will be reviewed after probation, there is a productivity bonus which can also add a good amount to your take home salary! They are a company who will be happy to provide you with significant in house as well as external training.

This company make large fabricated metal products typically for the construction and building services industry. These products are heavy, formed from sheet metal that is formed, punched, cut and bent and then assembled and quality checked all the way through.

In this role you'll be trained to own the part of the factory where they have 4 machines, a roll former, punch press, guillotine and brake press. 80% of your role will be fabricating using these machines, then 20% of the time you'll be able to support assembly, kitting and other areas across the shop floor.

What do I need?

  • You will have had experience of operating production/manufacturing machinery
  • It would be beneficial if you have used a brake press previously
  • You'll need to be able to work alone well and be ok with days that are repetitive
  • Happy to support other departments when required
  • Happy and able to physically lift and move sheet metal as and when required
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and a sensible commute away from Havant

They will interview quickly for the right person, they'll show you around the machines in the interview so you get a feel for the equipment but also the culture of the whole shop floor. They are keen for someone who can come in, work hard, be a good team player and look to improve the operations generally.
