Machine Vision Engineer
Due to growth we are recruiting for a very interesting and varied role to work as an Automated Inspection Systems Engineer at a large manufacturer close to Southampton and Portsmouth in Hampshire. As an automated inspection systems engineer your machines will be automatically inspecting products passing through on production lines. You'll be involved a lot with coding yet the role is varied and you'll also be involved with training, communicating with customers, providing technical support and getting out onto the shop floor too - this is not just a programming focussed role!
This role will offer tremendous support and progression opportunities along with a good salary paying anywhere up to circa £42000. This role comes complete with a very strong benefits package and core working hours of 0830 to 1630 Monday to Friday.
Tell me more! You would be part of a small team of 4 reporting into the Senior Engineer, across other sites you will form part of a 24 strong division of automated inspection system professionals so you'll also on occasions be communicating with other sites nationally and even European wide. Fundamentally, you'll assist in the design, development, implementation and validation of AIS (Automated Inspection Systems), i.e a vision system integrated within production line. With regards to software development you'll be coding often but also involved with image processing, optical set up, various industrial systems - also having experience with lighting, optics and camera imaging is important to be successful in this role.
So what more do I need?
- Enthusiasm! The manager and senior engineer insist that to be successful in their team you must have eagerness and desire to work hard and progress!
- Programming experience in C# and/or C++ / Python / Matlab.
- Knowledge of computer/machine vision and machine learning software.
- Vision system experience with Cognex or Keyance or Neurocheck for example.
- Have had some interaction with PLC control systems.
- A good communicator happy to occupy a varied role.
