Winchester, Hampshire

The role:
This role is a new position within the business which due to continued growth now demands an additional resource and a new level of control within the Finance & Admin Team. The Management Accountant supports the Finance Director, in all areas of the business under the Finance Directors remit and manages the other members of the team. The scope will encompass all areas of nominal / general ledger accounting including financial accounting and management accounting.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the completeness and integrity of the nominal ledger
- Responsibility for the preparation and submission of accounts to trial balance through to management accounts including
- Journals
- Preparation of statutory accounts
- Preparation of budgets
- Provide and interpret financial information using the company's software/system
- Monitor and interpret cash flows, and predict future trends
- Analysis of material variances
- Project costing for long term projects including Work in Progress and IFRS15
- Ensuring compliance with IFRS16- leased asset workings and reconciliations
- Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
- Develop external relationships with appropriate contacts e.g. auditors, solicitors, bankers and statutory
- Develop relationships with the Group Finance
- Produce accurate financial reports to specific deadlines
- Line management of other members of the department
- Project manage any new initiatives which fall within the departments remit
- Keep abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation
- Comply with GDPR
Key Aims & Objectives:
- Facilitate a team culture
- Ensure the wellbeing of the team
- Produce and submit management accounts and forecasting, ensuring all journals and processes have been actioned correctly
- Create, interpret and improve spreadsheets used within the organisation using advanced excel
- Keep abreast of all relevant accounting standards and ensure their application across the business in line with Groups
- Comply with quality policies required to be applied through administrative works
- Manage, organise and coordinate the team
- Continual Improvement
Essential skills:
- Strong accounts experience covering all aspects of accounts from processing sales and purchase invoices through to preparing management accounts and payroll
- Knowledge of long-term contracts and IFRS15 Revenue from Contracts with Customers
- Knowledge of IFRS16 Leases
- Forecasting experience
- Experience preparing statutory accounts
- Ability to investigate, collect and interpret data
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent reporting skills
- An analytical mind and attention to detail
- Must have good interpersonal skills
- Management skills
- Project Management
- Excellent MS Excel knowledge
- Structured, concise and methodical
- Smart appearance and able to interface at all levels within the organisation including customers, suppliers and colleagues
Qualifications:
- CIMA
- QBE (3+ years)

Hours:
- 8.30 -5 - Monday to Thursday and 8.30-4.30 Friday
Salary:
- Salary band is £38,000-£43,000 DOE
