Are you an experienced Manufacturing Engineer looking for a new contract? This could be your opportunity to work for a global company who are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join them for a 9-month contract.
You will be able to use your CNC skills/knowledge to sit in on design reviews to assist with creating change requests & feedback to ensure potential components are able to be machined, and if not then working to improve the design. Good knowledge of geometrical dimensional tolerancing would help you. You will also be liaising with external tooling designers to identify fixturing, gauging & cutting tool requirements, so if you feel something can be done better than you will have the ability and freedom to initiate this change.
All of your work will be recorded on the MRP system, like BoMs, and the process methods that you create to produce the components. Being passionate about your work ensures that all the quality requirements will be adhered to along with the correct inspections taking place, as well as you will make sure that you have the right production permits & process control. Your word will also be trusted when it comes to the estimation of process times for all operations involved.
What you have and what we are looking for:
Strong knowledge of CNC machining within manufacturing - Experience in a machine shop or working for a manufacturer who uses CNC Machining as part of their process. Some hands-on CNC machining experience would be a huge advantage. HNC/HND, degree or apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering (or a similar discipline). Happy to work in a Corporate environment with the ability to influence across functions and hierarchy. Excellent communication skills (ability to provide and foster effective on-going communication at all levels of the organisation) Team player attitude, proven capability to lead change in a team environment.
