Job Description

Have you accumulated great experience working within materials in a manufacturing environment? If so then we have a Materials Manager role on for a fast growing manufacturer employing over 200 professionals in West Sussex, Littlehampton, paying from £40000 up to £50000. On top of this you'll get 25 days of leave and all 8 bank holidays on top of course, pension contribution, childcare vouchers, an option to buy shares, free parking and free vending machines!

This is a role where you won't have any direct reports but you will be communicating cross functionally and reporting into the New Product Implementation Manager. As a Materials Manager you'll be given the opportunity to lead material projects concerned specifically within new product implementation and all associated supply chain demands. You'll be involved with new product material costs, materials inventory, sourcing plans to support NPI and working closely with suppliers developing strategic supplier relationships. Ultimately, you are tasked to ensure sufficient material is available, optimized and procured cost effectively working closely with operations and supply chain teams.

Sounds great, what do I need?

  • Good experience working within a materials function is essential.
  • Proven ability working with suppliers working effectively.
  • Ideally you will be from a manufacturing environment familiar with the demands of production.
  • Ability to collaborate & influence across departmental lines.
  • Strong cross functional communciaiton skills

On top of these skills certain characteristics are also just as, if not more crucial to hold, resilience and being a dynamic individual is very important in this role. They are a fast growing company and their production is relatively fast paced so you need to be able to cope well under pressure and ensure you remain effective at all times.
