Job Description

Are you an experienced Mechanical Fitter looking for an exciting new opportunity in the Portsmouth area? Do you have experience with saltwater assets, water pumps and drainage systems? Are you looking to join a leading organisation specialising in Asset Management, Facilities Management and Energy Solutions? If you are, this is a great role for you!

This Mechanical Fitter role is working for a company in Portsmouth. They are offering regular working hours, and are paying a salary of up to £33,000 depending on experience. This is a full time, on site role. Due to security purposes, you must be a British Citizen to apply.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, overhaul, repair, installation and testing of a variety of different Mechanical equipment, machinery and systems. The successful candidate will also need to be able to perform basic mechanical fault finding, diagnostics and repair. They will also need to be able to produce detailed defect reports to present to managers and stakeholders. They will also need to ensure that they comply with the HSE management systems in place. The candidate will also be expected to develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with colleagues, clients and relative stakeholders.

The company also offers 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, flexible working, access to the pension scheme and an early finish on a Friday! They also support development and can look in to supporting opportunities for additional qualifications and courses.

You will need:

  • A relevant trade/apprenticeship/Naval Qualification
  • Experience within Repair, Maintenance, Installation and testing of mechanical systems
  • To be able to read and understand technical engineering drawings and manuals
  • To be able to carry out mechanical fault finding and diagnostics
  • To be comfortable working at height and in confined spaces
  • To have a flexible approach to work
  • Excellent communication
