I am recruiting for a Nursery Assistant to become part of our friendly team, providing care and support to our incredible Nurseries located in Brighton.
You are in control of where you work, how little or often you work and when you work! We want to ensure you have a great work-life balance, which is why we will provide you with a selection of outstanding Nurseries and a choice of shifts available throughout the week to suit you.
Typical duties include ensuring a safe environment for the children, monitoring them throughout the day such as during play, naps and lunchtimes. You will be required to assist in organizing fun educational activities, these programs may need to be adapted to fit the individual needs and development stage of each child and you will be required to assist in supporting those who need extra learning support. You will keep child records, ensure folders are updated and maintain light admin tasks. Maintaining cleanliness throughout the Nursery, making sure toys are sanitized and the room is tidy. You will be required to comfort distressed children and use conflict resolution when needed to work through disagreements. You might be expected to accompany small groups of children on external outings, for example to the park or planned trips out! You will be expected to participate in meetings, communicate with parents and other members of staff as well as build positive relationships with the children. Other duties may include assisting with preparing snacks, maintaining each child's personal hygiene, working with a child one-to-one or in small groups and additional tasks given by management.

A minimum of six months paid experience within the care sector is required to be considered for the position.
The ideal applicant will have knowledge or previous experience working within SEN settings, they will be positive, able to use initiative, reliable and motivated with a real dedication to the educational development of each child.
The ability to drive is not essential for this position.
