Job Description
Nursery Operatives - £11.10 per hour
Permanent - Full time
Chichester area
Do you have a keen interest in horticulture or professional experience in this field? Or a passion for gardening? Would a permanent, full-time job in this area appeal to you?
We are seeking a Nursery Operative for our client in the Chichester area who is offering a great salary of £11.10 per hour for this permanent, full-time job.
Located just outside of Chichester city centre in the countryside (plenty of free parking!), you will be working in a pleasant indoor glasshouse environment. Should you not drive, public transport is available every 15 minutes.
The role is mainly focused on light manual duties of growing, caring for and harvesting plants. Other duties include working as a part of the team to keep the glasshouse maintained, clean and tidy. All the plants are grown on moveable benches at waist height, in containers up to 5L in capacity. It is desirable to have someone come from a horticultural background or has previously been in plant production OR has an interest or knowledge in gardening and wishes to pursue a career in horticulture. However, this is not essential and training is provided.
You will become an effective team member in carrying out all of the tasks accurately and consistently, monitoring and reporting at all times on pest and disease and maintaining a high level of good housekeeping.
The hours of work will be: Monday to Friday commencing at 07.30am - 4.30pm 41.25 hours per week with additional overtime offered if desired on weekends.
