Job Description

Operations Director - Hampshire - Circa £80,000

An established market leading organisation that specialise within medical device and pharmaceutical industries is searching for an Operations Director to join their Leadership team on a permanent basis at their site in Hampshire.

As Operations Director you will be responsible for driving change, quality and improvement within the business operations and will ensure the structure, policies, systems and processes are in place.

Responsibilities include; Develop appropriate strategies with the Executive Management to implement company policy; Challenge, understand and execute the company's strategic plan and attend Board meetings; Organise the preparation of a structured long-term Business Plan to ensure progress and development of the company; Agree financial targets and routine expenditure usually in the form of a budget, for financial control of the day-to-day activities of the company. Liaise with the Financial Controller; Be responsible for the operations and compliance of the company as directed by the budget, business plan and the Board; Ensure that new business opportunities are evaluated and costed, fit the business model and company strategy and will generate the agreed level of investment return and establish processes to monitor performance; Keep the Board of Directors informed concerning the status of the company to include departmental progress, serious personnel matters, future planning and requirements including the need for major capital expenditure.

To be considered for this position candidates need to have: a proven track record working within a SME as a member of the senior management team within the Life Science, Pharmaceutical, Microbiology or Toxicology industries. Experience within a GMP environment. Have strong communication and leadership skills; Having strong commercial, financial and analytical skills.

It would be advantageous for the candidate to; Hold a formal qualification within a technical discipline such as Degree, Masters, HND etc.

This position is commutable from, Portsmouth, Southampton, Fareham, Havant, Gosport, Winchester and other surrounding areas within Hampshire.
