PLANT AREA MANAGER

CHICHESTER, WEST SUSSEX

FPR Group are recruiting for a Plant Area Manager. We are looking for great candidates with a passion for gardening and horticulture with knowledge of plants. The objective of this role is to deliver high standards of plant retailing. You should be an approachable individual who is flexible and deliver fantastic customer service and passion and enthusiasm when selling gardening products to customers. You should be happy to work amongst a team and have the ability to express good customer service skills to both clients and team members with the additional knowledge of horticulture.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with the current Plant Area Manager to ensure the continued smooth running of the department.
  • Presentation and displays of a vast range of exciting plants
  • Creating an inspirational, well-maintained environment
  • Good housekeeping standards across the department with accurate stock control
  • Delivering excellent customer sales and service
  • Working as part of a highly successful and efficient team
  • Working proactively, enthusiastically and with drive to succeed.
  • Keeping track of all KPI's and targets.
  • Covering for the Plant Area Manager on their weekday and alternate weekend off work and providing cover for the Centre Manager when on business days off site, days off or holiday/sickness.
  • Checking and receiving deliveries of products following the required procedure.
  • Pricing, displaying, and merchandising of products to the required standards and implementing promotional changeovers.
  • Develop, motivate, and lead the team as well as monitoring their performance and ongoing training.
  • Ensuring the continued high level of customer service associated with the company.

What do I need?

  • A proven track record in garden centre retailing
  • Several years' experience working in a Garden Centre or Nursery
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Exceptional Plant knowledge

Skills:

  • Essential: having a sound understanding of garden centre retailing with excellent plant knowledge.
  • To thrive on working as part of a team with exceptional communication skills.
  • Self-motivated to achieve high standards with the ability to utilize self-initiative and close attention to detail in all aspects of the job.
