A rare oppourtunity to work in a Brighton based school for children and young people aged 7-25 has arisen.
We are currently recruiting for an amazing opportunity to join a specialist school and college as Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner.
You`ll be joining a fantastic Wellbeing Team to work with Young People with Complex needs and Learning Disabilities.
The position is a dual sited role in both Brighton and Seaford supporting learners to gain confidence in their communication and self-worth.
The role of the Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner is to undertake the development of Positive Behaviour Support plans and practices, enabling staff and learners to work together through PBS. The practitioner will encourage the progress of mental wellbeing for the individual and others who work with.
There are specific roles and responsibilities attached to this post:
To give input into the development of an excellent behaviour support service which encompasses the emotional, spiritual, social, learning and wellbeing needs of all learners and pay particular attention to those whose mental health significantly impacts on their daily life.
In conjunction with the Wellbeing team, support the development, implementation, monitoring and review the healthcare and therapy needs of service users in relation to PBS and wellbeing.
To be able to demonstrate the correlation between effective PBS and safeguarding practice to stake holders.
To work with the PB Leader to respond to referrals for placement in terms of ensuring the placement is appropriate and that the organisation has the resources required to meet the learner needs and appropriate levels of staff expertise.
To deliver PBS training both internally and externally and support and develop staff skills by working alongside them and modelling good practice.
Looking for candidates with:
*Level 4/5 in PBS. (Or working towards this)
*Experience and knowledge of Mental Health
*A minimum of 2 years relevant experience of and empathy for working with young people and vulnerable adults and managing challenging behaviour
You will be working 40 hours per week as per rota, 38 weeks per year with a salary up to £25000.
