Job Description

Production Engineer - Fareham

We have a role in Fareham for a manufacturer who are leaders in their field with products distributed globally, they mainly operate within the refrigeration sector. This would be a great role for someone who has a hands-on or detailed knowledge of in fabrication, sheet metal or HVAC industry or related products. We are looking for a strong problem solver, someone who enjoys getting stuck in and resolving issues, finding the root cause and implementing changes.

Aside from an interesting role, you would be joining a stable and growing company, specialist training, free parking, half day on Fridays, 25-days holiday, Christmas shutdown, friendly/flexible working environment. Salary is circa £25000 to £29000 per annum with flexibility for the right person, for someone very experienced they could look to increase this.

Main role

  • Continuous improvement of both new and existing manufacturing methods and processes.
  • Providing engineering assistance to all other departments with special regard to value engineering, product development and manufacturing supervision.
  • Assisting the Production engineers in the day-to-day operation and running of the Production Engineering Department.

Other duties will include

To investigate, justify and implement changes to any existing methods or process providing an increase in capacity and / or reduction in manufacturing costs with due consideration of H&S and COSHH Regulations.

Maintain proper working relationships between Manufacturing, Technical, Maintenance and Administrative staff in the pursuance of your personal and departmental objectives.

Formulate, justify and implement capital investment projects with due consideration of both current and future manufacturing requirements within agreed timescales and objectives.

Improve process flow through plant layout from concept and drawings to implementation.

To control and maintain Engineering Departmental copies of all company standards, procedures
