Production Process Technician- £25,000- £30,000 - Romsey
A niche optical engineering company are currently looking for a Production Process Technician to join their specialist team!
The Production Process Technician is responsible for; delivering high quality PPLN devices to customers using processes such as Dicing, Polishing, Poling and testing of the Lithium Niobate wafers and chips.
Other Responsibilities include: Making sure production timescales meet required deadlines; Delivering process steps to deadline ensuring the efficient production of PPLN devices.
Liaising with other members of the team to ensure the efficient production of products; Commuting between the Romsey site and Southampton Site liaising with the other technicians on site; General administration including Microsoft Office & SAGE entry for purchase and delivery information.
In order to be considered for the Production Technician position candidates need; To have knowledge and experience of Semiconductor devices or optical devices; Ability to manipulate small/ delicate optical components with damaging them; Computer Literate; Hold a Full UK driving Licence and own a mode of transport in order to travel between sites (Southampton - Romsey)
It would be advantageous but not essential for candidates to have; To hold a formal qualification such as BEng/ BSc, Meng, MSc in; an electrical engineering, optical, scientific discipline; Experience of assembly and testing of electronic products (Soldering, Wiring, Crimping etc) ; Knowledge of Maintenance of processing equipment such as Dicing, Polishing, Poling etc; Experience of Clean room Processes e.g. Sputtering, Lithography, Poling.
This position is commutable from, Romsey, Winchester, Southampton, Fareham, Salisbury, New Forest and other areas within Hampshire and Wiltshire.
