Project Manager - Construction - Petersfield
Job DescriptionOur client is looking to add to their team of skilled Project Managers for a challenging role managing medium to large projects within M&E building services and construction. Most of the projects you work on will be based around the South and London areas so you either need to be based in or around this area or be willing to regularly travel in to the area, they have an office near the Waterlooville area so there will be a requirement to be based from there when not on site.
The role would report into the Contracts Manager who is very experienced in his field, and you could really develop your skills by working on some very high profile.
You would have a company car, phone and laptop, they also offer 25 days holiday and a contributory pension. The salary for the role is around the early thirties possibly mid-thirties.
You would be managing projects from point of order to through completion and overseeing installation, mostly within commercial and industrial markets. You could be managing multiple projects at any one time ranging in value from £15000 to £2.5million
You will get involved at the very start of the project from conception, visiting clients for initial meetings, managing any technical issues, overseeing design, procurement, manufacture (internal and sub-contractors), expediting, correspondence (contract/commercial), commissioning, all finance/budgeting, and handing over to the client.
You will be regularly liaising with the client and project suppliers at all times, keeping the client fully up to date with progress.
You will to need to have experience managing multiple projects within a building services or construction related environment or have some exposure to project management
If you have a background in a relevant area within construction (at supervisory level or above) and have qualifications in project management or construction, this could give you the opportunity to move from a site based role into Project Management.
You will need to be very organised and be able to thrive under pressure as the environment can sometimes get very busy
Must possess excellent communication skills as well as being able to build strong relationships
Able to understand architectural/technical drawings/specifications
A valid UK driving licence is essential
