Job Description

Quality Engineer - Hampshire - Circa £40,000

A global manufacturing company are searching for 2 quality engineers to join their team based at their site in Havant. 1 role is working closely with the CNC Machine shop, the other role working closely with mechanical assembly of highly regulated aerospace products.

As a quality engineer, you will be responsible for liaising with customers & suppliers and driving step-change improvements in both product and service quality to improve customer service, eliminate waste, improve process capability and drive down costs.

Responsibilities include; Manage problem solving within the plant using the appropriate tools such as 8D & Six Sigma. Manage QMS policies within the process focused team; Accelerate quality improvements, ensuring non conformance activity is completed in a timely manner; Reviewing all non-conformance parts which are dispositioned daily so there are no outstanding supplier returns or unprocessed scrap at the end of each month: The use of measurement equipment such as (CMM, Formtester etc.) to validate parts. Communicating with other departments within the business as well as building and maintaining relationships with customers and suppliers.

In order to be considered for this position candidates need to have; Experience working within a Quality Manufacturing environment; Have a good knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques such as Six Sigma. To have experience using measurement equipment such as CMM.

It would be advantageous for candidates to: Hold Six Sigma Green belt, hold a formal qualification in Engineering / Manufacturing such as (HND, HNC, Degree, BEng, MSC, MEng, BSc).

This role is commutable from Portsmouth, Southampton, Chichester, Guildford, Winchester and other surrounding areas within Hampshire.
