Our client is highly regarded company in Aerospace/ Aviation manufacturing in the Fareham area; currently looking for a Quality Inspector on a contract basis, to join their engineering team for a minimum of 3 months, but likely to go on for longer.
This is a contract position, and a great opportunity for a someone with a background in quality and inspection to work within a high value / low volume product base environment.
What about the Role?
Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will be working closely alongside the Quality Engineers, responsible for ensuring the conformity of product through the build process and at final inspection. You will need to be able to identify trends in conformity issues, whilst assisting the Quality Team Leader in improving the culture to quality control throughout the organisation.
You will be taking responsibility for the dimensional inspections of both sub-contracted and in-house manufactured parts, assemblies in accordance with associated technical specifications. In addition to conducting inspection in line with inspection sheet criterion, applicable engineering drawings, standards and purchase orders; you will be collaborating and analysing with the supplier in the resolution of any issues and non-conformances and ensuring that calibration and maintenance is carried out on inspection equipment.
What do I need?
You will have experience in;
- Within a Quality Inspection role, capable of performing inspection of components
- Understanding Engineering Drawings
- Understanding of basic report writing
- Working to AS9100
- Working to AS9102
- Detailed mechanical inspection in an aviation environment
Essentially you will have:
- Experience in manual measurement techniques
- Exposure to continuous improvement
- Adequate command on the English language, both written and spoken.
- Good numeracy skills
- The ability to work in cross-functional process improvement teams.
The salary is up to £20 p/h LTD, depending on experience
