Job Description

Residential Care Worker - 39HR/WK

FPR Group are currently recruiting on behalf of our well established client based in Ashford, Kent who have recently had an amazing new vacancy become available to join their friendly team as a Residential Care Worker.

You will play a key part within the service, assisting in the educational, social, emotional and behavioural development of children/young peopleand ensuring to promote their health and wellbeing at all times. You will help management to develop the school/house and its environment, within the school you may assist the teacher in delivering lessons as well as help implement personal education programmes for each individual and monitortheir progress.

Whilst working here you will provide support for individual children/young people inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in learning activities. You will be expected to participate in mandatory training and sleeping in duties where needed. Ensuring high standards of communication involving checking and completing daily records, contributing to the children/young people's development through a variety of means including play, excursions, and other social opportunities in an individual and group setting.

You will be expected to support the aims and ethos of the client at all times, set a good example in terms of attendance and punctuality, attend all team and staff meetings and undertake professional duties that may be reasonably assigned to you. You may also be expected to undertake lunch duties, collect money and carry out general domestic duties as required.

The ideal individual will have previous experience working with children in any care setting, have standard education achievements. Either have a Level 3 Diploma for Child and Young People Workforce or be willing to work towards one, understand health and satefy matters and the importance of child protection issues and why procedures need to be followed. They willbe confident, havea positive mindset, great communication and a good sense of humour!
