Job Description

A rare oppourtunity to work in a well established independant residential school in the rural area of Lewes has recently arisen. The school is for children with mild learning disabilities and EBD.

The school is for children aged 9-17 and is residential based, with the children living on site in the beautiful East Sussex countryside, with activites and all sorts of intersting things onsite the school is a great place to work and oppourtunities here do not come along very often.

You will be required to manage a small team of support stuff in a sometimes pressurised residential environment, working out of a residential unit attached to the school.

You must have a positive outlook and the ability to lead from the front, you will be working with experienced staff but you will be the link and first point of contact for senior management. Your job role will focus on ensuring the children are safe and content in their residential settings and you must be able to display a "children led" attitude.

Heres the good part... The job is term time only working for 38 weeks per year! Leaving you with the school holidays as your own.

You must have excellent working knowledge of the childrens homes regulations and quality standards, plus have the ability to work 1-1 with each individual child, focusing on progression and development.

An NVQ 3 is desirable, plus you will need to have a high level of management or supervisory experience in a childrens home or similar setting.
