Residential Support Workers Wanted!

Our well respected and friendly client is currently searching for Residential Support Workers for their Childrens Home based in Hove. The role of a Residential Support Worker will include effectively caring for the children/young people looked after by the client, whilst assisting them to gain a positive experience during their education and working within the Therapeutic guidlines of the service. You will act as a positive role model for the children, supporting them both within the home and local community and assist in their development by promoting positive behaviours.

My clients aim is always to improve the lives and prospects of the children and young people in their care, working therapeutically at all times allowing them to become more integrated individuals and valued members of their community later in life.

You will receive additional duties payments, special bank holiday bonus' as well as the fantastic opportunity to transition to a Therapeutic Carer position after completing 6 months of basic training which also increases your salary. You will benefit from a great work and home life balance with your holiday entitlement as well as a great pension scheme. There is regular salary progression currently up to £22,686 (£10.91 per hour). You will recieve extensive training, full support throughout your time in this role and also be offered courses such as Level 3 Diploma in Therapeutic Child Care to develop your career!

Being organised, resillient and able to remain calm under pressure is key for this role as there can be aspects of challenging behaviour. You may be expected to take the children to community events therefore a full driving licence is required for this role. You will use your experience gained in the field of residential child care or social care to successfully relate and communicate with difficult to reach children and promote a positive outlook.
