I am recruiting for a Children's Residential Support Worker to become part of our amazing team providing companionship, care and assistance to a range of clients based in Brighton.
We have been providing outstanding Children's Residential Support Workers to a range of children's services for decades, our client list is actively growing which allows us to offer you a selection of services to work in! You will have the option to support Residential Children's Homes, Therapeutic Children's Services, School Clubs, Youth Centres and the list goes on!
Typical duties include participating in staff meetings, working with children and young people on a one-to-one basis or in small groups and regularly encouraging them to work towards their personal goals. You will assist staff in organizing fun activities during the day, provide support during activities that can include baking, gardening, crafts and external trips into the community such as swimming or bowling. There will be basic household tasks throughout the day, you will be expected to update the logbook when required as well as handle care plans. You will be supporting children and young people with their morning or evening routine, supporting their educational needs as well managing their well-being and personal needs. You will be expected to adopt de-escalation techniques where required if aspects of challenging behavior occur, promote strong communication with both the children and young people as well as the staff and other healthcare professionals. You will be a key role model to the children and young people you support, teaching them important life skills, building positive relationships and supporting them to achieve their aspirations.

A minimum of six months paid experience within the care sector is required to be considered for the position.
The ideal applicant will have previous experience working with young people or children, however this not essential and we will be accepting individuals with a care background who are looking to begin working in this field. You will be resilient, able to use your initiative, positive and reliable.
The ability to drive is not essential for this position.
