SEN Teaching Assistant Role:
To complement and support the teachers' delivery of the school curriculum and contribute to the development of students.
Working on a 1-2-1 basis supporting students
Encouraging and enabling students to become independent learners, supporting their welfare and their emotional and behavioural development
Working collaboratively with teachers in managing behaviour.
Supporting students with vocational and life skills setting them up with a framework to become independent learners.
Maintaining positive relationships and being an appropriate role model.
SEN Teaching Assistant Applicant Criteria:
5 GCSEs to include Math's and English A-C (or level 2 equivalent)
Able to provide support for teachers and students in order to raise standards of achievement for all.
Have an understanding of key childcare policy and safeguarding criteria
Contribute to the preparation of resources and lesson plans
Able to supervise pupils and be aware of and actively promote the wellbeing and safeguarding of students.
Drive to motivate and engage students learning with structured learning activities that will hold their interest.
Experience of using behavior management strategies and ability to use these in line with school policy and procedure, to contribute to a purposeful learning environment, ensuring all students are safe, engaged and interacting positively.
Able to successfully communicate with the teaching team providing detailed feedback and evaluation on lessons and student participation, achievement and further learning needs.
Small class sizes (average of 6 pupils per class) with a maximum capacity of 18 pupils.
