This is your opportunity to work in the picturesque town of Redruth, Cornwall, joining the skilled Design team at our prestigious client working in a modern environment in an accessible site (just off the motorway). Please note a relocation package is available.
You will be working with interesting cutting-edge products, they manufacture the products onsite you so you will be involved from the start in a true engineering role.

You would be based at a lovely site in Cornwall, but our client has other sites in the UK and around the world.
The role... The mainstay of your role would be to produce design concepts and detailed component drawings / specifications, supporting continuous improvement projects and providing technical support to Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Applications, Sales and of course Customers.
Some of your duties would involve the design and validation of products to customer requirements, standards/codes etc, you would be involved from initial inquiry through to completion. Creating appropriate Engineering Schedules and BoM's, monitoring deviations from requirements and reporting back, providing engineering solutions to internal non-conformances, customer issues and change requests.
A part of your role would also be to implement and support continuous improvement projects and best practice replication throughout the company always committing to best practice design engineering.
Who are we looking for… Someone who might be looking at stepping up into a managerial role in the near future. Experience with CATIA, Solid Edge or any similar 3D modelling package design experience within a manufacturing environment. Experience designing machined/fabricated stainless-steel components, pipework, machined plastics. Familiarity with pharmaceutical or biotech industries would be great e.g. experience within industries such as Bio-Pharmaceutical, Water, Chemical, Micro-electronics, Nuclear and Food & Beverage would be ideal however not essential.
Strong Communication skills and able to communicate well with a variety of different disciplines including production, sales, customers etc. You will need to be adept at prioritising your time and able to use common IT software such as Windows, MS office, Project...SAP would be a bonus.
Experience of designing machined/fabricated stainless-steel components, pipework, machined plastics and working with close tolerance, multi-item assemblies. Degree, HND/HNC or equivalent in a relevant discipline (Mechanical desirable).
