Job Description
Are you an experienced Structural Engineer? Have you worked within Asset Management, Facilities Management, Energy Solutions or Construction? If so, this Senior Structural Engineer position could be perfect for you!
This Senior Structural Engineer position is working for a company located in Portsmouth. They are offering flexible hours, Monday to Friday. This is a full time permanent position. The role is also paying up to £55,000. Due to the nature of the business, you must hold a British Passport or be a British Citizen.
This role involves overseeing project delivery through the RIBA design stages, providing design solutions, and offering discipline expertise for asset streams. As part of the structural engineering team reporting to the Principal Structural Design Manager, you will work collaboratively with various engineering teams, effectively managing complex projects from inception to in-service. You'll liaise with diverse stakeholders, self-manage task priorities, and support less experienced team members. Key responsibilities include following direction from the Principal Structural Design Manager, developing detailed Statements of Requirements, managing design teams, ensuring compliance with legislation, conducting structural surveys, and aligning designs with client objectives. You will also oversee design quality, monitor project progress, and coordinate internal design review meetings, among other tasks.
This role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, from project management and design development to stakeholder collaboration and compliance oversight. Monthly reporting duties involve monitoring project progress, providing forecasts, and maintaining project documentation in an organised manner while facilitating effective communication with various stakeholders.
You will need:
- A degree or similar qualification within Structural Engineering, Building Engineering, Building Surveying or similar
- At least 5 years' experience in a relevant industry
- To hold or be working towards Chartered Engineer status
- To be familiar with a range of structural projects - New structures, repairs, refurbishments, etc.
- To be familiar with a range of materials including concrete, masonry, steel, etc.
- To be familiar with Listed Repairs, Building Regulations, and British Standards
