Job Description

We are working with an international, mechanical biased manufacturer supplying the aviation industry to recruit a skilled professional for an office based Service Engineer working within the Aviation industry.

What's in it for you?

Salary is around £45000 to £55000 per annum depending on the level and relevancy of experience.

This role is Permanent role and Benefits include flexi time, shopping discount schemes, 25 days holiday, free parking, subsidised canteen (so you can grab a full English on a Friday!!), Contributory pension scheme, health care and child care vouchers. The standard week is 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday.

Requirements for the role…

  1. Customer facing role within a highly regulated, mechanical engineering environment
  2. Knowledge of the aviation industry would be advantageous as would experience liaising with the military
  3. This could suit someone who is coming out or already left the military who worked up to a Senior level (e.g. Officer/Lieutenant) with a background in Mechanical Engineering but this isn't essential
  4. This is a key role within the business and requires someone with advanced communication skills and a track record of building strong relationships
  5. You would be dealing with a very demanding and regulated client base so you will need to be an experienced professional with a technical bias
  6. You would be liaising with suppliers in France on a daily basis so language skills would be a bonus
  7. Hands on technical background
  8. This role really needs someone who is business orientated
  9. Educated to HNC or HND level (or above) within Engineering

The role…

You would be working in a highly regulated and structured environment but you would certainly have opportunities to solve problems, manage projects around continuous improvements

You will be attending some training in Europe and there is also some travel within the UK and occasionally to France

You will need to ensure customer satisfaction and technical support to the UK MOD

Working with field based engineers to resolve technical issues

Prepare and issue concessions

Work with OEMs to ensure technical support publications are accurate and easy to use

Create customised maintenance plans

Ensure the application of specific technical maintenance requirements
