Job Description

We have a niche role on for a large and well established laboratory with well over 100 scientists on site! They have not needed to make any redundancies in recent months and business continues to prosper! If you've gained experience in sterility testing, or bioburden testing, membrane filtration testing or even strong water testing experience we want to chat with you now!

For this Sterility Technician role the company will pay from £20000 to £23000 depending upon relevant experience, double pay overtime is available occasionally across the weekend, they also offer exceptional colleague support and training to progress yourself moving forwards. The company are also independent so not constrained by the same issues that bigger conglomerates face regarding global policy and shareholder expectations so there really is fantastic growth potential for everyone on site.

Based just below Fareham in Hampshire, this company have about 130 on site and supply customers nationally and across the globe. This role will require you to work standard days Monday through to Friday with a few hours required at the weekend once or so a month depending on how busy they are in testing. Weekly hours are 37.5, 24 days of leave with all the 8 bank holidays on top, pension, life cover, medical cash back scheme, free hot chocolate and fruit and a day off for your birthday!!

Reporting into a Section Head you will join a team of 8 other lab technicians supported by an administrator. You'll fundamentally be prepping pharma and med device products for sterility runs and working closely with isolators/glove boxes. Additionally tasks such as following good lab practices, data collation, monitoring of equipment and working closely with cGMP and cGLP standards is of course expected.

So what do I need?

  • MUST HAVE - Proven experience of sterility testing, or bioburden testing, membrane filtration testing or even extensive water testing.
  • Current Good Laboratory Practice (cGLP) and cGMP
  • Any experience working in isolators or glove boxes would be a real benefit
  • Relevant certification in microbiology of closely relating science

This position is commutable from, Portsmouth, Southampton, Havant, Gosport, Winchester and other surrounding areas within Hampshire.
